After all the classes, after all the time with patients, it all comes down to your CNA license test. You want to pass so you can be certified and begin a new career in a growing field. It may seem like a daunting thing, this test, but if you’ve done everything that they have asked and paid attention to all the information, it really shouldn’t be that hard.

The first thing you should know, if you don’t already, is that there are practice tests out there. There are many sites online that provide practice tests and booklets to help prepare for the exam, but be prepared to pay for them. They almost always charge a fee.

It may also be possible to get free copies of old tests or free practice exams from your local government. This will vary from state to state, but check online and see if there are local organizations that may have set up something that could help you.

One part of the CNA license test that you will not be able to practice for, though, is the clinical skills trial. This part of the test involves you actually administering care to a real, live patient. You will be judged on your adherence to the exact procedures. If you study, you should do fine in this part.

However, some people do get very nervous when being watched, and the test giver will be watching you closely. This can really be distracting and has caused a few people to fail. Just remember to relax and breathe. This will help calm the patient too.

There are two specific areas that you should study thoroughly before taking the test. First, be sure you know the Clients Rights for your area. Make sure you understand what they mean. This is important.

Secondly, infections and infection control. Don’t just memorize this information, but like with the Client Rights, make sure you fully understand it and practice it. Make sure you wash your hands when you’re supposed to and disinfect where necessary.

The CNA license test is not difficult. Make sure you study before you take it, review your notes and your books. Don’t let your nerves sabotage you in the clinical test and be positive. Never forget that once the test is over, you will be a full-fledged certified nursing assistant.
